When Conflict Turns Productive September 19, 2018 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
We will explore the concept of "productive conflict," with the intent of enabling participants to shift destructive conflict in the workplace to productive conflict. We will discuss the psychology of conflict (the 18 Common Responses to Conflict), and how Emotional Intelligence can play an important role in managing the mode of conflict to be productive. We will provide a tool to estimate the cost of managers' time that could be redirected to enabling Managers as Coaches.
Striving to traverse the intersection of contemplation and action, engaging in life-long education “while continually building, modifying, reiterating, changing, and, well, acting“ has always been Dr. Hiner's way. His formal education (culminating in a doctorate in Organizational Psychology) is complemented by perennial immersion in professional training, conferences, and neural implant to the Google-plex (what, you don't have one of those, yet?). His 40+ years' professional experiences have kept all of this acquired knowledge in meaningful play. Dr. Hiner's latest business pursuit is as co-owner of Workforce Equanimity which implies both contemplation and action. To be an effective workforce, all must be enabled through persistently mindful preparation “to learn, think, and act with intention in an environment that honors human dignity."
