Programs & Events Offered By SAHRA

Annual Conference

The
 
Annual Conference brings together over 400 HR professionals and industry partners over two days in September. The Conference offers attendees the opportunity to network with peers, learn about innovative goods and services, and to stay current on industry topics through a full program of educational sessions. The McClellan Conference Center currently serves as the home of The Annual Conference. The event offers attendees a minimum of 10 SHRM and HRCI re-certification credits.  


Annual Law Update 

The Annual Law Update occurs in December of each year, and educates attendees on new legislation that will affect employers in the new year. This program offers a minimum of three SHRM and HRCI re-certification credits. 


Annual Legal Series 

The Annual Legal Series takes place in May, with a two-hour session one morning per week for four weeks. Each week tackles a different hot topic in employment law. Attendees can select which sessions they would like to attend, or opt for the bundle to receive the best deal. Each session offers two SHRM and HRCI re-certification credits. 


Membership Meetings

Membership Meetings occur quarterly, offering either breakfast or lunch, with networking and a presentation on a hot topic in HR. Membership Meetings are the perfect opportunity to escape the office for a couple of hours to connect with peers, get updates from the SAHRA Board of Directors, and to hear from an expert on a topic of interest.  Locations rotate throughout the year to reach as many members as possible. These meetings offer one SHRM and HRCI re-certification credit. 


Mixers 

SAHRA's quarterly mixers are the perfect opportunity to mingle with your peers in the HR field after hours. Connections are made and friendships formed over beverages and bites at different hot spots across the region. 

 


Webinars 

SAHRA offers four to six online learning opportunities per year. Topics vary, but are often employment law updates. Members receive free access to three webinars annually using promo-code 3FREEWEB. Webinars typically offer one SHRM and HRCI re-certification credit.  


Membership Orientations 

Looking to learn more about SAHRA and the benefits of membership? SAHRA's membership orientations occur quarterly online. Orientations are open to current or prospective members and typically last 30-45 minutes. 


Study Groups 

Aiming to earn your PHR, SPHR or PHRca? SAHRA offers study groups throughout the year to help you do just that. These low cost study groups typically consist of less than 15 individuals and meet weekly for approximately 12 weeks. 


Mentor Program

SAHRA's Mentor Program occurs twice each year, in the Spring and in the Fall. Mentors are paired with mentees, and experts are brought in to speak on various topics of interest. The program typically consists of four evening sessions over a four month period. 

 


Emerging Professionals Events

SAHRA's Emerging Professionals group was formed in 2017 to serve as a forum for those who are early in their HR career, students, or anyone who identifies as an Emerging Professional. The group holds several networking and educational events throughout the year.  


CalSHRM Legislative & HR Conference 

Nearly 600 HR and business professionals from across the world attend this unique conference held in Sacramento in the Spring. The Conference offers over 15 hours of learning as well as an opportunity for attendees to advocate on behalf of the profession in the State Capitol. Click here for more information.
