A Human Resource Guide to Understanding and Preventing Sexual Harassment Under the New California State Laws

September 17, 2019

3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

This course is a deep dive into California's most recent Sexual Harassment training requirements.  We will talk about what laws such as AB1825, SB1343, and SB778 require employers to cover with employees - including the newly introduced discussion points around LGBTQ rights and Bystander training – as well as clarify who must take the course and when.

Historically, businesses with 50 or more employees were required to train their managers.  With the introduction of SB1343 most businesses in all industries must now train their managers and employees.  Indeed, roughly 500,000 small businesses with less than 50 employees in California must now comply with these laws. These same businesses will have to qualify, purchase, implement and maintain an approved course, leaving many confused and in violation of the law.  Moreover, with other States like New York, Illinois, and Oregon passing strict employment training laws, companies with employees in multi States will have to comply with those new laws at the same time.

Not understanding and implementing proper training can result in increased legal burdens and financial liability.  We will review how modern-day HR Professionals, Legal Advisors, and Business Owners mitigate these risks by embracing these new regulations and implementing training solutions and technology.
