You Can't Fire Me For That...I'm Off-Duty

An employee’s off-duty conduct covers a wide variety of issues and as current events continue throughout the nation, employers may be faced with a multitude of issues that surface in the workplace. May an employer discipline or terminate an employee for off-duty conduct? This presentation will help guide employers and HR professionals on how best to navigate the thorny issue of employees’ privacy and off-duty conduct and will also address state and federal guidance on this issue

Shannon Finley is a Shareholder with the law firm of Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin. She focuses her practice on employment and retail matters. Ms. Finley is an experienced litigator who represents California employers in disputes ranging from single plaintiff wrongful termination cases to complex class actions, and everything in-between.

In addition to defending employers in litigation, Ms. Finley provides guidance to employers to avoid lawsuits before they arise.
