The traditional work environment is changing, as is the nature of what we consider traditional work. As technology continues to advance, the skills that leaders need to thrive in the 21st century workforce are being redefined. Virtual workspaces, limited physical contact, and social unrest have cemented the necessity for effective human skills including mindfulness, dialogue, and collaboration leading to effective change. Organizations looking to provide upskilling opportunities for their workforce to enhance leadership abilities may benefit from customized curriculum, short-course delivery, and Podcasting as pathways to greater leadership capacities in areas like diversity, equity, inclusion, and ethics. In a virtual environment, self-care should be combined within any workforce training and off-the-shelf products many not produce the desired results. This session will explore why investing in human skills will pay off for organizations during and after Covid-19. |
