2019 Employee Benefits Compliance: How to Take Aim on a Moving Target

September 17, 2019

11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

The three specific learning objectives attendees achieve by participating in this session are as follows.  - First, participants will learn how to prepare for an OCR or DOL audit focused on HIPAA and/or MHPAEA. By understanding their company's obligations under the regulations, they will learn what they need to do and when they need to act. The session will provide guidance in developing an audit checklist so they minimize disruption to their business and avoid costly penalties for non-compliance. - The second learning objective is how to avoid ACA-related penalties by ensuring their companies know and understand the latest ACA developments, such as extended deadlines, repeals, and other changes. Participants will also learn how to respond to a Letter 226J in the event their company receives one. - The final learning objective is learning what to do to be compliant with state laws that pertain to employee benefits. They will learn how state laws tie in with federal laws and how to coordinate compliance.
