SAHRA is pleased to announce it has been awarded the 2020 Silver Excel Award from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). This award recognizes outstanding achievements in chapter operations and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to members.
The award is the result of two of SAHRA’s programs held last year, the Mega HR Conference and the Mental Health & HR Series. Both programs occurred as a result of the pandemic. When it became clear SAHRA could not host its in-person conference, the Board of Directors quickly adjusted to a virtual program. SAHRA partnered with eight fellow SHRM chapters to host a dynamic virtual event, with hundreds of attendees from across the state. Special thanks are owed to 2020 Conference Chair Drew Berryessa and SAHRA’s 2020 President Carrie Schleicher for their leadership during unprecedented times.
The second award-winning initiative, the Mental Health & HR series, consisted of three sessions for HR professionals to learn how to better focus on their own needs, mental health and to implement personal practices to avoid burnout. Special thanks to SAHRA’s Vice President of Professional Development Emily Santanelli for organizing this program!
Thank you to the members, event participants, board members, volunteers, speakers, and sponsors who have allowed SAHRA to continue to advance its mission to inspire, engage, and develop HR professionals despite the challenges of the past year.
The Sacramento Area Human Resource Association will, through the efforts of committed volunteer members, inspire, engage, and develop HR professionals to meet the challenges of a constantly changing business environment.
