THE PRESENTATION  


This presentation will cover everything an HR professional needs to know about accommodating an employee who is pregnant or who is going to become a parent.  Topics will include:

·       Accommodating morning sickness and other pregnancy-related maladies

·       Preparing for the employee’s leave(s) of absence

·       Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL) and California State Disability Insurance (CA SDI)

·       Paid Family Leave (PFL)

·       The interplay of the California Family Rights Act and Family Medical Leave Act 

·       Incorporating the employer’s benefits

·       Distinguishing between “maternity” leave and bonding time leave for new parents

·       Drafting compliant policies


 

THE SPEAKERS  

Presented By Littler Mendelson


Kelsey Papst is experienced in all aspects of civil litigation, including pleadings, law and motion, mediation and dispute resolution, trial preparation, and complex discovery issues. She is also an experienced appellate practitioner, having filed writs, petitions and appellate briefs in both California and federal courts. Prior to joining Littler, Kelsey worked at a boutique Sacramento law firm specializing in general civil litigation, particularly in the areas of professional malpractice defense, attorney ethics and business law.

 

 

Britney Torres is experienced in all phases of civil litigation, including pleadings, law and motion, complex discovery issues, arbitration, mediation and trial preparation. Prior to joining Littler, Britney worked with a Los Angeles law firm specializing in general civil litigation, particularly in the areas of securities, labor and employment, unfair competition and professional malpractice matters.
