An In Depth Review of California Labor Code § 226

Do you know the nine different items that must be on every employee’s wage statements?  Are you sure?  The number of Class Action and Private Attorneys General Act (“PAGA”) cases that have been brought against California employers for wage statement violations has exploded since Labor Code § 226 was amended on January 1, 2013.  Even if you use a payroll servicer, this is no assurance that you are in compliance.  Wage statements are one of the easiest ways for plaintiffs’ attorneys to sue employers – but they are also one of the easiest problems to fix.

This webinar will cover the following topics to help you ensure that your company is in compliance with the law:

·         The 9 items required to be on all California employees’ wage statements

·         The 2001, 2003, and 2013 amendments to § 226

·         The “minimal” standard for finding a violation of § 226

·         Recent state and federal decisions interpreting § 226

·         The interaction of § 226 and California’s new sick leave law
