Join us for a conversation on employee wellbeing and wellness programs.  Traditionally, corporate wellness programs all looked the same with biometric screenings and a few physical fitness challenges and maybe some health coaching.  Our workforces have evolved and employers now have the opportunity to use wellness as a vehicle for reinforcing organizational culture, retention and creating a community of belonging and friendship at work.  Beyond traditional wellness, the focus is now on employee wellbeing.  This can include physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing, financial wellbeing and even relationship wellbeing.  Come learn about employee wellness programs and takeaway some practical ideas on how you can begin or enhance your program.

Sonsie Hopper is an HR professional for a network of Charter Montessori Schools across the Sacramento area. With over 20 years of experience in corporate business and various financial fields, she has seen firsthand what it looks like to work in environments that don’t support employee wellness, leading to; exhaustion, burnout, physical and mental health issues, and a multitude of other results. Sonsie is proud to have launched a wellness program for staff this past year at her organization that focuses on holistic health and curated resources to meet a variety of needs, regardless of financial ability, with a motto of wellness for all.

A combination of education in Business and Journalism, with life and working experiences, has given Sonsie a well-rounded perspective on business and community and the impact that these have on one another. These have helped to shape her passion in empowering people and approach her work in HR with the belief that we should aim to nurture the whole human and not just the employee. She believes that we can accomplish this by striving to provide resources to staff that aid in developing, not only professionally, but also personally.
