Join us as we review the new laws, regulations, and court decisions for 2023.

In this session, Melissa Whitehead from Shaw Law Group will cover developments in key workplace areas such as wage-hour and EEO compliance, reasonable accommodations and leaves of absence, employer policies and procedures, and more. In addition, they will explain the changes you need to make to your employee handbook and/or policies for the new year.  

This year’s topics include:

  • New pay transparency laws, including the publication of “pay scales” and enhanced Pay Data Reporting for employers with 100 or more employees
  • COVID-19 developments, including the revised definition of “close contact”
  • The workplace-related provisions of the California Privacy Rights Act
  • The inclusion of “designated person” as covered family members in the California Family Rights Act and Healthy Workplace Healthy Family Act (California’s 2015 mandatory sick leave law)
  • The addition of marijuana use as a protected status under California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act
  • Workplace protections for “reproductive health decision-making”

Melissa Whitehead, Esq., Shaw Law Group, PC

Melissa Whitehead’s practice primarily focuses on providing advice and counsel to employers, conducting impartial workplace investigations, and providing substantive training to employers and HR professionals.
