Six Part Online Lunch & Learn Series

Move the needle on how you show up as a strategic HR leader!

SAHRA and Sherpa HR have teamed up to provide you with an exciting lunch & learn series to work on how you can position yourself as a trusted strategic HR advisor to the organization that you support. Organizations need strong HR partners and leaders who anticipate measures of success, and pitfalls and take accountability to steer and influence transformations & strategies in the right direction. Martin Jessen, the founder of Sherpa HR, has developed a model that outlines 6 strategic HR muscles that describe the competencies, behaviors, habits, and mindsets that make up the strategic HR leader. In each lunch & learn session, Martin will introduce you to one of these muscles and will facilitate energetic and interactive sessions to reflect, learn and embark on muscling up your strategic capabilities.

SESSION DESCRIPTIONS

Session #1  - Sense | Wednesday, May 4th, 12 to 1 p.m.

After introductions and getting an overview of the strategic HR model we will dive into the world of detecting business problems, exploring the patterns around what topics get the attention in your organization and why other topics do not seem to make it the table. We will also discuss how to align business strategy and the HR strategy.

Session #2 - Think Wednesday, May 11th, 12 to 1 p.m.

We will now go deep on the root causes of business problems. Feel free to contribute with examples from your organization (for example, high attrition or difficulty to attract certain profiles etc.). We will learn about using simple but powerful approaches to apply systems thinking and analytical techniques. Get ready to peel the onion to uncover root causes of your most pervasive business challenges.

Session #3 – Create Wednesday, May 18th, 12 to 1 p.m.

Once you have uncovered the root causes of your business problems, you are ready to get a team together to design solutions that truly have an impact. We will explore design thinking principles that support you in developing high quality solutions that land well with your employees, managers and leaders who will bring your solutions to life.

Session #4 – Deliver Wednesday, May 25th, 12 to 1 p.m.

Strategy does not carry water without execution. This is a discipline where we often demonstrate strength and reliability in the HR function. Nonetheless, even the best intentions and great deployment plans will meet resistance and conflict. Great outcomes and results often rely on the HR leaders ability to navigate these barriers and overcome them effectively. In this session we will look at great program management and change management, as well as getting to the core of conflicts.

Session #5 – Engage Wednesday, June 1st, 12 to 1 p.m.

Your relationships and ability to influence others are the foundation to establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to the organization that you are supporting. The emotional intelligence that allows you to put yourself into someone else shoes is critical and we will learn about simple techniques on how you can approach this is a systematic way. This will allow you to effectively navigate and influence your stakeholders to join you on a more strategic approach in doing HR.

Session #6 – Feel Wednesday, June 8th, 12 to 1 p.m.

Our last session will focus on the emotional intelligence that surrounds your self-awareness. We will explore how your values and beliefs guide you in important decisions that you influence as a strategic advisor. We will learn about techniques on how to regulate your emotions in difficult situations. We will end our series with sending each-other out in the field with clarity on your personal plan on how you will make new habits and behaviors happening that move the needle on how we show up more strategically in your organization.
