Mike Knitter, is currently the Vice President Compensation & Retirement for Mechanics Bank

Most recently, Michael served as the Vice President Human Performance, Total Rewards for Texas Health Resources.  Prior to Texas Mike worked for Adventist Health as Vice President Total Rewards to work on its HR transformation and lead the Total Rewards transformation across a 23 hospital, 280+ clinic health care delivery system with operations in California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii.  Michael lead the total rewards efforts including the modernization of the staff and executive total rewards programs.

Prior to moving to California, Michael served as the Associate Vice President for the University of Chicago.   In this capacity, he was responsible for change management, executive coaching, leadership development, health and welfare plans, retirement plans, wellness and health promotion and financial reporting and budgets, He co-led a team of 50+ individuals as the Project Director for Workday’s Human Capital Management system implementation.  Prior to joining the University of Chicago in 2010, Michael was the Director of Human Resources/Total Rewards for Ministry Health Care, a 14 hospital integrated health care system in Wisconsin.  Michael’s previous positions include the Director Compensation, Benefits & HRIS for Manpower Inc., Compensation Leader for Northwestern Mutual and worked as a human resources consultant in the Chicago/Milwaukee market.
