The labor and talent markets are among the fiercest we’ve experienced in years.  52% of employees are estimated to seek a new role this year.  Why and what can employers do?  In this session, our panel will discuss various aspects of the employee life cycle including considerations for recruiting, organizational development, performance and exiting gracefully.  After our discussion, we will have a time for open Q&A from attendees.

SPEAKERS

Steve Haas is the HR Director for Disability Rights California, a statewide nonprofit with 300 employees that provides a variety of advocacy services for individuals with disabilities. Steve has over 25 years of experience from a variety of human resources, training, and management roles. His industry background includes insurance, call centers, technology, and publishing. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Master’s Degree in Human Resources, both from Golden Gate University. He is certified by the HR Certification Institute as a Senior Professional in Human Resources, with an additional certification in California employment law (SPHR-CA), and by SHRM as a Senior Certified Professional. (SHRM-SCP). He is a faculty member of UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education, was on the board of directors for the Sacramento Area HR Association for eight years.


Preet Kuar is CEO and Executive Recruiter with Pacific Staffing and Pacific ExecSearch, which has been in business for 33 years. Preet joined Pacific Staffing almost nine years ago and created successful Executive Search division while overseeing Pacific Staffing’s temporary and consulting division. Pacific ExecSearch received Forbes recognition in 2020 as one of America’s best executive search firm in America. Prior to joining Pacific Staffing, she spent 12 years recruiting for all levels of Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, Operations and Technical roles. During this time, she developed a network of contacts that enabled her to be successful across multiple industries and countless searches for her clients. Preet is passionate in surpassing her client’s expectations, and advising on talent acquisition and employee retention strategies. Preet possesses a wealth of experience placing Accounting/Finance and Human Resources executives in various industries such as not for profit, technology, agricultural, biotech, and financial services organizations, among others.


Diane Wismer is on a mission to bring out the best in people and organizations. With over 20 years of experience in leadership and organizational development, human resources, and operations, she’s been helping organizations in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors build positive work environments where people use their strengths to do big things.

In her roles as consultant, coach, facilitator, and C- Suite executive, Diane’s been fueled by what’s possible for people when they feel seen and heard and know their contributions matter. She’s a people-centered facilitator of large-scale change initiatives involving organizational assessment and design, strengths-based development, and performance management for organizations including Bank of America, E*TRADE, and Girl Scouts Heart of Central California.
