This presentation will focus on effective steps to handle a problem employee. The presentation will identify helpful language and strategies for performance evaluations, disciplinary write-ups, performance improvement plans and termination documentation. In addition, the presentation will identify other tools available to employers to who are coping with such employees in a remote working environment. Also discussed are documentation and evidence gathering should your company be faced with a complaint or lawsuit.
SPEAKER Chris Onstott, the manager of the firm's business litigation practice group, focuses on employment litigation and commercial litigation. He has defended employers in employment litigation, including defending against race, sex, and disability discrimination and harassment claims, as well as wage and hour violations. He also provides advice and counsel to California employers on a range of topics. He regularly speaks on Human Resources related topics to several organizations throughout California and nationally.
Prior to joining Kronick, Chris worked in the Sacramento office of a statewide labor and employment law firm representing California employers. Chris also completed a clerkship on the United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit for Judge Walter K. Stapleton. Katharine McCall, an associate attorney at Kronick, Moskovitz, Tiedemann & Girard, represents public and private sector entities in a broad range of employment matters including wage and hour actions, and discrimination and harassment claims. She provides advice and counsel to clients on various labor and employment issues, including compliance with California wage and hour laws and laws regulating employee leave, safety, termination, discrimination and harassment. Katharine has advised numerous public and private sector clients on evolving legal issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes crafting employment policies and providing strategic guidance on compliance with COVID-19 related laws.
