California Paid Sick Leave Law Took Effect July 1

California paid sick leave law took effect yesterday. Starting Wednesday, all workers in California began to accrue sick leave.Effective on July 1st, California law requires all employers to provide employees with a minimum of three paid sick days per year. The Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014 entitles employees who have worked in California for 30 or more days within a year to paid sick days for prescribed purposes, to be accrued at a rate of no less than one hour for every 30 hours worked.
