This presentation will introduce the participants to the theory and the practical skills necessary to interview witnesses when investigating allegations of employee misconduct. Among other things, you will learn how to prepare an interview plan, frame and ask effective questions, interview reluctant witnesses, and obtain relevant evidence.

SPEAKERS

 

Leslie Ellis

Leslie serves as an impartial investigator for sensitive and complex complaints in the workplace and on campus. She investigates a variety of issues, including workplace harassment, fraud and compliance, whistleblower complaints and sexual assault. She frequently investigates matters with all levels of employees and witnesses, including those involving executives, members of the board, the public, sworn officers, physicians, patients, educators, students and legal and human resources professionals.


Chelsea Tibbs

Chelsea is an experienced employment law attorney and conducts investigations for public and private employers. She has a background representing both public and private sector clients in a variety of employment and education law matters including employment contracts, employee discipline, employee leave and wage and hour compliance. Chelsea’s prior experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in South America provided her with opportunity to hone her keen problem-solving skills.

All registrations are considered pending until payment is received by SAHRA. Confirmations will be sent upon receipt of payment. If payment has not been received in the office at least seventy-two (72) business hours in advance of the event, your registration will be considered canceled.

 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received in writing to the SAHRA office 72 business hours prior to the event in order to receive a refund.
