and welcome to SAHRA Career
Management 2012!
My name
is
Alicia Chatman, SPHR-CA.
I have the pleasure of acting as VP of Career Management for SAHRA
for the second year. Thank you for that opportunity.
I’d like
to introduce you to the Career Management Team for 2012.
JoAnn Nelson, SPHR-CA
has
returned as Team Lead for HRCI for her second year.
Sandy Dudley, SPHR-CA
has returned as Team Lead for HRCI-CA for her third year.
Daphni Ames, SPHR
has
joined the team as Team Lead for Mentoring and
Robin Wortley-Hammond has
joined the team as Team Lead for Members in Transition (MIT).
Through
our status as the local Society for Human Resource Management –
SHRM Chapter,
we offer many benefits to our members and the employment community
in the region at large.
Career Management
focuses on offering opportunities to gain HRCI Certification as a
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Professional in Human
Resources (PHR), Professional or Senior Professional in HR with an
additional focus on California based HR – SPHR-CA and PHR-CA, and
the Global Professional in HR (GPHR). Read all about certification

If you are a student, or have not worked in HR long enough to sit
for the exams, SHRM offers opportunities for you as well, @
Student Certification.
It’s a great time to get certified as SAHRA, through our
Professional Development Team and others offers many ways to
recertify and most are extremely low cost! Recertify - Why/How/What?

Career Management
offers Mentoring opportunities for those well versed HR
Professionals to give back to those coming up in the profession and
for those coming up in the profession – or a certain area of the
profession, to gain exceptional learning opportunities as Mentees.
Recertification credits are offered to both mentees and mentors
during two sessions each year.
Career Management
offers services to those looking to transition from one position to
the next or who are not working and seeking their next career
opportunity. MIT provides job leads, resume review, networking and
support as well as opportunities for skills enhancement. If
maintaining membership or acquiring membership is a challenge for
unemployed HR professionals, inquire about our MIT membership

SAHRA
offers so much to the local HR community, business community and
employment community. We are really happy to be giving back to the
profession by volunteering our time and knowledge through the Career
Management Team. If you are certified already, you are looking for
ways to get involved or you would like to utilize the programs
