FUNCTION
Oversee the planning, arranging, and coordination of
professional development events, acting as an advisor and assist the
Team Leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop annual
plan for meetings and seminars (April – March)
Develop,
distribute, collect and tally annual survey of what topics
interest SAHRA members, no later than March 1; strive for a
minimum of 33% response rate from membership
Prepare annual
budget and profit plan for all teams
Coordinate and
oversee teams, ensuring their performance, budget and profit are
on target
Facilitate
planning meetings, coordinating and synergizing efforts of team’s
focus
Network with
other chapters for speakers and seminar ideas
Provide
evaluation forms, question cards, and speaker gifts at all
meetings and seminars
Coordinate all
travel arrangements for speakers
Act as a liaison
and/or assist Administrative Support person with hotel
arrangements
Collect minutes
from all meetings, seminar and correlate them to an annual binder
for future reference
Recruit, train
and retain volunteers; plan for successors for VP and Team Leader
roles
REQUIREMENTS Must be a SAHRA member in good
standing. Ability to effectively represent organization to the
community at large. SHRM membership preferred. Previous Team Leader
experience preferred. Effectively facilitate meetings. Strong
leadership abilities. Ability to effectively influence volunteers.
Ability to set strategic direction. Effective communication skills
(oral, written and presentation). Ability to attract, coach, develop
and mentor volunteers. Ability to create and monitor budgets and
reports within established time frames. Must have the ability to
make creative solutions within a limited amount of resources.Attend 50% of SAHRA events and 80% of Board Meetings.
TIME COMMITMENT, in
addition to Board and Monthly meetings:
Approximately 8 -10 hours a month
