VP Career Management Job Description

Position: VP Professional Development
Responsible To: President, Chapter Members
Direct Reports: Team Leaders of HRCI, Members-in-Transition, and Mentors

 

FUNCTION
Provide overall guidance and leadership to teams providing a variety of career management tools to the membership.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with each team leader to establish goals and objectives for the coming year

  • Work with Executive Director to develop appropriate business processes that will enable teams to meet their objectives

  • Keep abreast of resources available from SHRM and share with Team Leaders as appropriate

  • Reach out to general membership to assess needs and interests in this area

  • Provide newsletter articles pertaining to career management tips and tools

  • Develop and manage budgets

  • Represent Team Leaders at board meetings

  • Recruit, train and retain volunteers; plan for successor VP as well as Team Leaders

REQUIREMENTS
Must be a SAHRA member in good standing.  SHRM membership preferred. Previous experience in a SAHRA leadership role preferred. Ability to effectively facilitate meetings. Strong leadership abilities with the ability to develop strategic direction, goals and objectives and follow-through on goals and objectives. Effective communication skills (oral, written and presentation). Ability to attract, coach, develop and mentor volunteers. Ability to stay within budget. Ability to develop creative solutions utilizing a limited amount of resources. Attend 50% of SAHRA events and 80% of Board Meetings.

TIME COMMITMENT, in addition to Board and Monthly meetings:
Approximately 5 hours a month
