SHRM/Foundation Team Leader Job Description

Position: SHRM/Foundation Team Leader
Responsible To: VP Membership, Chapter Members
Direct Reports: Team Members

 

FUNCTION
To identify, attract, approach and provide information to HR professionals, and to those who provide service to the HR profession, for the purpose of membership in SHRM. To encourage SAHRA members to join SHRM. To retain membership levels in SHRM at 30% or above.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Educate the Chapter membership regarding the existence, purpose, and ongoing activities of SHRM and the SHRM Foundation

  • Encourage membership and provide applications and information regarding the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)

  • Obtain promotional informational materials from SHRM and distribute to attendees at monthly meetings, or by mail as appropriate

  • Develop and implement fundraising activities to meet SAHRA’s goal for donations to the SHRM Foundation

  • Prepare newsletter articles on benefits of SHRM membership, and education on SHRM Foundation

  • Advise and update the Chapter membership of the Foundation's activities and fund-raising needs

  • Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategy planning for the chapter

  • Prepare, monitor and maintain budget

  • Provide monthly reports

  • Reconcile SHRM membership list with the chapter affiliation listing

  • Provide Executive Director with Web site content as needed

  • Attend SAHRA membership meetings

  • Attend Board meetings as needed (minimum 2 per term)

  • Recruit, train and retain volunteer members; plan for a successor

  • Orient incoming Team Leader

REQUIREMENTS
Must be a SAHRA member in good standing. Current SHRM membership required. SHRM membership required once in position. Possess the ability to effectively represent SHRM to the community-at-large. Possess excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation), the ability to effectively facilitate meetings and to attract develop, mentor and influence volunteers. Possess the ability to set strategic direction. Must effectively utilize staff and suggest creative solutions within constraints of limited resources.

TIME COMMITMENT, in addition to Board and Monthly meetings:
Approximately 5 hours a month
