Member Services Team Leader Job Description

Position: Member Services Team Leader
Responsible To: VP Membership, Chapter Members
Direct Reports: Team Members

 

FUNCTION
To identify, attract, approach and provide information to HR professionals, and to those who provide service to the HR profession, for the purpose of membership in SAHRA

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to requests for information about membership through telephone calls, personal contacts, and correspondence.

  • Recruit, train and retain volunteer members; plan for a successor

  • Coordinate and facilitate committee meetings as necessary

  • Prepare newsletter articles on new members, existing members, and benefits of SAHRA

  • Direct the Executive Director to coordinate and prepare chapter member renewal invoices by individual expiration dates

  • Develop, arrange and conduct New Member Orientation sessions as needed.

  • Maintain "Ambassador" type program to assist new members with assimilation at monthly meetings

  • Work closely with Volunteer Coordinator to ensure new members understand how to take full advantage of their membership through networking and participation

  • Direct the Executive Director to send New Member packets to new members within one month of joining SAHRA

  • Direct Executive Director to prepare, print and distribute a Chapter Directory annually, no later than April

  • Direct Executive Director to prepare Directory Updates as needed.

  • Provide Executive Director with updated Web site content as needed

  • Attend Board meetings as needed (minimum 2 per term)

  • Develop, arrange and facilitate social events associated with membership and networking

  • Orient incoming Team Leader

REQUIREMENTS
Must be a SAHRA member in good standing. Current SHRM membership preferred.  Possess the ability to effectively represent SAHRA to the community-at-large. Possess excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation), the ability to effectively facilitate meetings and to attract develop, mentor and influence volunteers. Possess the ability to set strategic direction. Must effectively utilize staff and suggest creative solutions within constraints of limited resources. Attend 50% of SAHRA events and 80% of Board Meetings.

TIME COMMITMENT, in addition to Board and Monthly meetings:
Approximately 6 hours a month
