SAHRA offers 14 weeks of study and test prep sessions for anyone interested in attaining their SPHR/PHR certification. The SHRM® Learning System is the study tool used throughout the study sessions and covers the following areas:

Attendees will purchase the SHRM® Learning System, which has been designed by subject matter experts, and includes discussion questions, application exercises, and module exams to develop specific HR competencies. Professionals who use the Learning System to prepare for the PHR and SPHR exams consistently beat the national pass rate!

SAHRA offers study groups to prepare members for the Winter PHR and SPHR certification exams beginning the week of August 15, 2011. Members may sign up for class through the first week of meetings. No sign ups will be taken after Friday, 8/19/2011. All study materials must be ordered and in hand by the second week of meetings.

No single course of study guarantees success on the HRCI examinations.

Study Groups require each participant have their own SHRM®¨ Learning System
The SHRM® Learning System is designed to provide you with an overview of key areas in human resources management. Materials include the six modules that correspond to the six functional areas as defined by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).

GPHR Eligibility

• 4 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with less than a Bachelor’s degree

• 2 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with a Bachelor’s degree

• 1 year of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with a Master’s degree or higher

• 7 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with less than a Bachelor’s degree

• 5 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with a Bachelor’s degree

• 4 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with a Master’s degree or higher

• 4 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience (with 2 of the 4 being global HR experience) with less than a Bachelor’s degree

• 3 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience (with 2 of the 3 being global HR experience) with a Bachelor’s degree

• 2 years of demonstrated global exempt-level HR experience with a Master’s degree or higher

All participants must be current SAHRA members. To join SAHRA sign up on this website or call the office. Participants may order their SHRM® Learning System through SAHRA and receive a $100 discount. All participants must be signed up for membership; the study group of their choice, and have received their study materials by the second class of the session. By the middle of the study group session, all attendees should have applied to take the PHR or SPHR exam through www.HRCI.org. HRCI alone approves individuals to sit for the exam.

SAHRA sponsored study groups are a great way to network with other SAHRA members, increase your knowledge of the profession and prepare for the exam. SAHRA study group members enjoy a high pass rate for both the PHR and the SPHR.
